Two TREMEC-Equipped Factory Five Racing Roadsters

Our latest TREMEC Customer Spotlight focuses on two friends who built FFR roadsters at about the same time.

Joe Camire worked at Factory Five for several years, and being part of the crew creating the roadster kits he eventually wanted one of his own to build.

Sharing a passion for driving with Joe is his friend Greg Sandels who purchased a FFR kit in 2004, two years before Joe bought an started his own build. This 1968 Ford Bronco has a Coyote V8 and TREMEC 5-speed

The first-generation Ford Bronco has always enjoyed immense popularity. So much so that Ford revived the Bronco nameplate for a new SUV that’s a modern image of the classic. Myles Stocker’s 2006 Mazda V8-Powered MX-5 Miata

Myles Stocker knows cars. He’s built them, he’s raced them, and he’s restored them. Ask what he’s owned and modified, the list gets interesting– cars that include an AC Cobra, 1965 Mustang GT350R, 1956 Ford pickup with 392 Hemi, and 1961 Falcon Ranchero with straight axle and Holman Moody 289 hi-power engine. Oh, and then there’s the 1960 Ford convertible with 352 hi-power engine and 1961 Ford convertible with 375-horsepower 393 hi-power engine which he ended up swapping in a 427 tunnel-port and 4-speed. Mothballed 1970 Chevelle Convertible Project Car

Build-in-Progress stories is a new feature we have started on the TREMEC blog. These  new features will show cars, trucks and other types of vehicles using TREMEC 5- and 6-speed transmissions while they are being built.

Chris Nolff’s 1932 Ford Coupe Highboy Build in Progress

In this edition of Build-in-Progress, TREMEC is shining the spotlight on Chris Nolff of Michigan and his 1932 Ford highboy classic, outfitted with a TREMEC TKO 600 transmission. The vintage-style Blue Oval is not his first adventure in old iron, having owned other 1932s, as well as a 1937 and 1940. In fact, parked in the home shop next to this project is a 1966 Ford Mustang that he has been renovating simultaneously to be a Pro Street dragstrip car. Tim Casto Wins His First Ever TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout

Tim Casto barely made it to Bowling Green, Kentucky, for the NMRA All-Ford World Finals and to patriciate in the 2020 TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout. He worked late the night before the event to swap ignitions just to get the car running. Then, during one of his test passes, Casto hit fluid near the top end of the track and spun the Electric Red 1993 Mustang LX in a wild 360. Don Kingore’s TKO-Equipped 1960 Corvette

Don Kingore had a lifelong dream of owning and cruising an early Corvette. In winter 2019, he began tearing apart and rebuilding this 1960 Corvette in his home garage. He chose a design theme that reminded him of 1960s when early used Corvettes were affordable sports cars that could be owned by young enthusiasts. When you read about a stick-shift car setting a new record in drag racing, it’s never a surprise that the car has a TREMEC transmission. Alan Morgan recently put his name in the record books with his Magnum 6-speed–equipped 2000 Chevy Camaro, running a 5.42 e.t. at 130 mph in the 1/8-mile on nitrous.
