Without any shadow of a doubt, the quickest street-legal, production Ford Mustang ever to roll from a showroom floor is the 2020-present Ford Mustang Shelby® GT500®. It packs a 760-horsepower punch, with wicked torque from the 5.2L supercharged V8. It pulls hard from idle to 7,500 rpm and can propel the 4,000-plus pound Pony car down the quarter-mile in under 10-seconds at over 130 mph in stock trim! And it does it with a TREMEC TR-9070 DCT 7-speed transmission making the gear shifts in as little as 80 milliseconds. Read More “Event Coverage from the First-Ever TREMEC GT500 Shootout”

Jeep Magneto 2.0 EV Wrangler Electric Concept Vehicle Features TREMEC 6-Speed Transmission
A hot button topic (to say the least) these days are EVs (electric vehicles) and the various aspects of owning and driving them. Factory Stick-Equipped Luxury Grocery Getter – Cadillac CTS-V 6-Speed Wagon
At the 2022 Cadillac Attack event, we spotted a relative unicorn in the CTS-V universe. In the field of competitors, there was a CTS-V wagon with the factory manual transmission! A CTS-V wagon is unusual enough to see, but one with a factory TREMEC TR-6060 6-speed is like catching sight of Big Foot riding on the Loch Ness Monster’s back. The CTS wagon was available for the 2010-14 model years, and was a bold move for Cadillac, since at a time, the concept of a station wagon was virtually extinct in the American market, unlike in Europe. This 2013 stick wagon was one of only 500 made for the model year. Read More “Factory Stick-Equipped Luxury Grocery Getter – Cadillac CTS-V 6-Speed Wagon”

The TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout is back for another season of shift-your-own-gears excitement! TREMEC and the NMRA want 2022 to be the best season yet for True Street racers and stick shift enthusiasts.
“Following the success of the 2021 NMRA season and the TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout series, we can’t wait to see the action and entertainment the Stick Shift Shootout gives us this year,” said Steve Wolcott, NMRA President and CEO. “Fueled by the popularity of the True Street class, we always have a diverse group of stick-shift competitors. Scott Boda Wins the TREMEC Modular True Street Class at the 2021 Mod Nationals
When a racer goes into competition with a new, fairly unproven setup, it doesn’t make for the best odds of winning. There’s no telling whether the horsepower will mesh with the suspension or track conditions, or what the optimal launch rpm is, the best tire pressure or the litany of other fine-tuning tweaks needed. But in racing there’s also a certain amount of luck involved to take out the competition. Or in this case, a silver bullet: the Steeda 2018 Ford Mustang GT driven by Scott Boda, better known as the Silver Bullet Mustang. The Ford modular V8 engine family debuted to the world with a lot of controversy, but it quickly matured and, thanks to the power-enhancing magic of boost, it now powers Mustangs of various generations to neck-snapping speeds and elapsed times (E/Ts) at the dragstrip. The performance success of these engines and their large following led to the creation of the Mod Nationals in 2013. This annual overhead-cam drag race battle royale is an event exclusively for modular-powered Fords. Read More “8-Second Action at 2021 Mod Nationals TREMEC Modular True Street Drag Race”
Ten Questions with NMRA-NMCA Co-Founder Steve Wolcott
The National Mustang Racing Association (NMRA) and National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) are two of the best-known drag racing series in the U.S. Born from the 1990s boom in Mustang performance, the NMRA was created to meet the rapidly growing need for a drag racing series exclusively dedicated to late-model Mustangs and other Ford-family makes. As the NMRA’s popularity and success surged, ProMedia took over the existing NMCA racing series in 2005 to become an NMRA sister series running similar format as the NMRA but open to muscle cars from all brands.
