While putting together a list of new 2026 cars and trucks that offer a manual transmission option unfortunately doesn’t take as long as it used to, there are still several legit options for the new car and truck buyer looking to shift their own gears. These are legit affordable (well, affordable for 2026 at least) production vehicles – we’ve omitted ultra-rare supercars that most people couldn’t afford unless they won a really big lottery. We’ve included the vehicles equipped with a TREMEC dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as well. The DCT is essentially a manual transmission shifted with solenoids and controlled by the vehicles electronic control module.

Ford Mustang
Cadillac CT4 and CT5 Blackwing
Over on the luxury side, Cadillac continues to offer a pair of manual transmission options and even better they’re #TREMECequipped options! The high-performance Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is available with the TREMEC TR-3160 single-overdrive 6-speed behind its turbocharged four-cylinder. A step up from there is the CT5-V Blackwing, its supercharged 6.2L V8 is available with the venerable TREMEC TR-6060 double-overdrive 6-speed.
Chevrolet Corvette
On the Chevrolet side, the lone model that made this list is the Corvette. Equipped with the TREMEC TR-9080 DCT since the C8 Stingray introduction in 2020, The TR-9080 offers lightning quick actuations of its internal shift rails for gear changes in the blink of an eye – less than 80 milliseconds to be precise. This has allowed the base C8 Corvette Stingray and its high-performance variants to achieve record performance and break speed and lap records at tracks all over the world.
Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator
The good old Jeep Wrangler is helping keep the factory-equipped stick alive in 2026. But for 2025 the manual transmission option for the turbo four-cylinder engine was eliminated, leaving the V6 as the only engine you can get a stick with. This remains the same for the 2026 model year. For someone looking to buy a Gladiator, the Jeep truck sadly doesn’t have a third pedal option.
Toyota GR86, GR Supra and GR Corolla
Besides offering the only truck with a manual transmission option in America, Toyota also offers manual transmission options with its three performance cars the GR Corolla, GR Supra and the GR86. In the case of the GR Corolla, you can get the manual transmission with all-wheel drive, while the GR Supra and GR86 are rear-wheel drive only.
Toyota Tacoma
It fills our heart with sadness there’s only one truck on the list, that being the Toyota Tacoma. But while you might think that means the stick is only available with a base model no frills or options Tacoma work truck, you’d be wrong. Instead, the only manual transmission option, a 6-speed, is on the premium models – certain Tacoma TRD 4x4s.
Honda Civic Si and Type R
The Civic Si and Type R carry the performance banner once again for Honda in the 2026 model year. Both the Civic Si with 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder and the Civic Type R with 2.0L turbo four come with a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission.
Mazda 3 and MX-5 Miata
Mazda comes in with a pair of truly affordable cars with manual transmission options. The MX-5 Miata continues for the 2025 model year with its 2.0L 180 HP four-cylinder which you can get paired with a 6-speed manual. On the more practical side is the 2026 Mazda 3 hatchback with a 250-horsepower turbo 2.3L four-cylinder you can get with a 6-speed manual.
Subaru WRX and BRZ
Subaru offers buyers two options if you’re looking for a manual transmission and you like the sound of that 228 naturally aspirated horsepower flat-four boxer engine. The first is the 2026 BRZ, the rear-wheel-drive sedan that shares underpinnings with the Toyota BRZ that you can get a 6-speed stick with. The other option is carrying over from the 2025 model year, the legendary Subaru WRX which lets you get a 6-speed manual with Subaru’s awesome all-wheel-drive system connected to the turbocharged version of the 2.4L boxer flat-four making 271 horsepower on 12 pounds of boost.
Hyundai Elantra N
The Hyundai Elantra N takes the award for being the most affordable new car with a manual transmission option, with sticker prices under $40k. Its 6-speed manual transmission is bolted to a 280-horsepower turbo four-cylinder, with the downer being the manual is only available with the front-wheel-drive version and not with the all-wheel-drive setup.
BMW M2, M3, M4 and Z
Achtung! The 2026 model BMW lineup still features manual transmission options for its M2, M3 and M4 series performance sedans and the Z-series roadster. The venerable 3.0L twin-turbo inline 6 in all three models can be ordered with a manual transmission bolted to it.
Nissan Z
All three versions of the Nissan 2026 Z are available with 6-speed manual transmissions, a great match for the 400-horsepower twin-turbo V6.
Porsche 911
Would the iconic Porsche 911 be the same if it didn’t have a manual transmission option? Recently Porsche’s chief said in an interview the company was dedicated to offering a manual transmission for some models in the 911 series, and in 2026 that promise was fulfilled. Both the 911 Carrera and 911 GT3 can be ordered with true manual transmissions with the traditional Porsche flat-6 engine.
Volkswagen Jetta GLI
If you’re a VW fan and still want to shift your own gears, there’s one option for you; the Jetta GLI performance sedan. The GLI has a 228-horsepower turbo four-cylinder can be bought with a 6-speed manual transmission.
