The TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout is back! This competition of gear-banging drag racers will take place during the Nitto Tire NMRA World Finals from September 28-October 1, 2017, at the historic Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
To participate in the TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout, a vehicle must compete in the NMRA True Street class and be equipped with a manual transmission. Only H-pattern–shifted, manual transmission equipped cars are eligible. Modifications, such as face plating or pro gears, will be allowed. The transmission must be operated by a single shifter handle; transmissions with air/electric/hydraulic actuation or multiple shift levers will not be allowed.
The eight quickest cars will be selected to compete in single-run eliminations in the Stick Shift Shootout. The winner will take home a brand-new TREMEC transmission of his/her choice.
“TREMEC has supported the NMRA All-Ford World Finals since 2000,” said Steve Wolcott, CEO and co-founder of the NMRA. “TREMEC’s Stick Shift Shootout is one more feature that makes the World Finals a must-attend event for any Mustang racer or fan. The opportunity for one lucky stick-shift True Street racer to take home a brand-new TREMEC transmission ensures wild action on the 1320.”
What does the Bowling Green TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout have in store? It’s anyone’s guess, but there’s no doubt it will be exciting! Will the 2017 Bradenton shootout winner, Anthony Heard, show up to take the title again? Will pushrod, modular or Coyote power put the winner in victory lane? Which TREMEC transmission will be in the winning car? We can’t wait to find out!
TREMEC will also host a Racer Appreciation Party on the Saturday evening before the awards ceremony.
