The SEMA Show is where automotive manufacturers and aftermarket companies show off the latest parts and accessories. It is also where some of the most impressively designed and built vehicles are displayed, showing off those parts as well as craftsmanship in the builds. Here is a sample of the numerous custom-built vehicles we saw at the 2022 SEMA Show that were equipped with TREMEC 5- and 6-speed manual transmissions!
On display in the Meguiar’s Car Care booth was celebrity comedian Kevin Hart’s recently built 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner nicknamed “Michael Meyers” with a supercharged Gen IV Hemi backed by a Magnum 6-speed transmission.Inspired by a design created by Hot Wheels diecast designer Brendon Vetuskey, this ’55 Chevy gasser has a fuel-injected tunnel ram big-block under the flip-up front end backed by a TREMEC Magnum 6-speed.This rolling hot rod chassis had a retro-styled supercharged Ford Flat-Head V8 backed by the venerable TREMEC T-5 5-speed transmission. The smooth lines of the Chevrolet 1961 “Bubbletop” coupe always make for a great custom build. This particular 1961 Chevy takes things to the next level with a built W-motor V8 fully styled to look as good as it runs. It sends power through a TREMEC manual transmission to the rear wheels. Bonus points for the custom steering wheel with main design cue of the original 1961 Impala wheel. It wouldn’t be a SEMA Show without a Ringbrothers-built car wowing the crowd. This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach1 dubbed “Patriarc” has all the usual Ringbrothers design and build mastery. It uses a 5.2L Ford Performance Coyote V8 connect to a TREMEC Magnum 6-speed for a powertrain as stunning as it’s custom body and interior. Another gorgeous TREMEC TKX 5-speed-equipped muscle car at SEMA 2022 was Steve Strope’s 1967 Chevrolet Malibu. on the surface this car is a subtle build, but when you look deeper all the details show what a fantastic build this is. You’d expect a modern build like this to have an LS or LT under the hood, but Steve broke the trend and went with classic big-block Chevy power in front of the TKX.The interior was intentionally left out of this Kindig Design 1953 Corvette “CF1” on display in the Dynamat booth showing off the company’s interior insulation products. It’s got a Roadster Shop chassis as its foundation, with LS V8-generated horsepower spinning the gears of a TREMEC TKX 5-speed.At the TREMEC outside display, the CarBuff Network unveiled “Sasquatch,” the 1979 Jeep Wagoneer. Trent Campbell based Sasquatch on his memories of Wagoneers growing up, and the vehicle was designed and built with the help of 67 sponsors, including TREMEC as the title sponsor. This special Wagoneer was built by Resurgence Automotive as more than just a nostalgic show car tribute. The design and parts selected for it will enable this vehicle to journey across parts of America only a select group of vehicles can go. The Wagoneer’s original AMC engine has been replaced by a new Gen III Hemi V8 for more power, reliability and efficiency. Sending the Hemi’s power to Sasquatch’s built Dana 60 axles is a McLeod Racing dual-disc clutch system-equipped TREMEC TR-4050 heavy duty 5-speed transmission that gives Sasquatch the gearing to handle rough trails but still capable of driving at highway speeds when the asphalt route has to be taken. The third of the TREMEC-equipped EV-conversion vehicles at the 2022 SEMA Show was a 1984 Jeep Scrambler in the Electric GT booth in the Central Hall. The Scrambler used the same eGT-413 conversion system as the Corvette and Defender 90 on display. The EV-conversion Scrambler uses a TREMEC TR-4050 5-speed for sending power to the front and rear differentials. From the outside with the hood closed you would never know this 1994 Land Rover Defender 90 did not have an internal combustion engine for power. Equipped with the Electric GT eGT-413 EV conversion system, the electric motor spins a TREMEC TR-4050 5-speed for increased off-road prowess over the stock Land Rover transmission.Featured in the TREMEC Booth in Central Hall, this 1963 Corvette was one of our TREMEC-equipped EV-conversion vehicles. Using an Electric GT eGT-413 V8 EV conversion system spinning a TKX 5-speed to send power to the rear wheels. You can read all the details about this car in our recent TREMEC Blog.
