TREMEC All-Female True Street Showdown

The 2023 NMRA Spring Break Shootout hosted the first TREMEC All-Female True Street Showdown of the year. This new competition gives women a special True Street subclass to race against each other for a new dynamic in the NMRA’s most popular drag racing format.

The TREMEC All-Female True Street Showdown abides by the same rules as regular True Street. Racers who enter All-Female True Street can also enter regular True Street for twice the fun. And, if their car has a manual transmission, they are also eligible to compete in the TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout. Winners for each time class in the All-Female True Street Showdown are determined via three-run E/T (elapsed time) average.

Leading the pack was Gaby Lujan, overall winner with her 9.67 E/T average driving a 1990 Mustang. Runner-up and taking the 10-second class was Deneen Segura in her wheel-standing 1988 Mustang averaging 10.17 E/T average. Jessica Moulden took home the 12-second class title with a low 12.13 E/T after three runs. The 14-second class went to Mary Ann Mammen, piloting her 2004 factory TREMEC-equipped Mach 1 with a 14.01 average. And Luan Walker finished things off, taking the 15-second class plaque home after her 1998 SN95 Mustang GT ran a 15.17 average E/T.

The TREMEC All-Female True Street Shootout will also take place during the NMRA 25th Anniversary Ford Homecoming, June 8-11, 2023, in Norwalk, Ohio, and NMRA World Finals and Holley Intergalactic Ford Festival, September 28 – October 1, 2023, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Winning the overall TREMEC All-Female True Street title was Gaby Lujan in the Lujan Motorsports 1990 Mustang. Three runs of skilled driving was the path for Gaby to earn the title with a 9.67 average elapsed time.

While Deneen Segura came in runner-up with her 10.17 E/T average in her blue 1988 Fox coupe, we’ll give her an honorary title for best True Street wheel stand!

The 12-second class plaque went to Jessica Mouldin in the 2012 Mustang GT. Jessica had a 12.13 average E/T after her three runs.

Mary Ann Mammen was our 14-second All-Female True Street Showdown winner, and her 2004 Mach 1 is a factory TREMEC-equipped Mustang! Shifting her own gears Mary finished up with an E/T average of 14.01 seconds.
